Newcomers Attachment & Advancement
Social support has been suggested as necessary for newcomer adjustment to an organization. The availability and helpfulness of social support to newcomers help with psychological distress, satisfaction, and intention to leave. The availability of support activities such as offsite training sessions and business development initiatives was found to be associated with decreased psychological symptoms. In addition, the helpfulness of various relationship supports was related to positive adjustment.
Advancement of Canada's Labour Market & Economy
Immigrants’ contribution to Canada’s economy and society continues to expand, and this contribution is expected to increase over the coming years. Projections show that immigration will remain a significant contributor to future demographic growth. Starting in 2031, more than 80% of this growth is projected to come from immigration, compared to about 67% in 2011.
